About Norteira

Photography markets, plotted one country at a time.

We build the photography marketplace inside a country, with its own photographers, its own prices and its own name, and run it from Lisbon. Eight are trading, Thailand is signing the first photographers, and five more are on the chart for 2027.

Open Photo Portugal

Each country is plotted at the city we open it from. Bearings taken from Lisboa. Japan and Thailand lie off the sheet, marked where the course from Lisboa leaves it.

Nine countries, eight taking bookings.

Each one carries its own name, its own photographers and its own support in the local language.

Five more on the chart.

We open a market roughly six months before its high season, so the first photographers are booked before the first tourists land. Plotted for 2027, in the order below.

  1. CroatiaSurveyCruise and honeymoon traffic, almost no competition on the ground.Dubrovnik, Split
  2. NetherlandsSurveyCity breaks all year, English everywhere, an hour from end to end.Amsterdam, Utrecht
  3. CzechiaSurveyEnormous photo tourism, the cheapest supply in the EU.Prague, Český Krumlov
  4. United KingdomSurveyExpensive to supply, but it searches in English and pays in pounds.London, Edinburgh
  5. TürkiyeSurveyBalloons over Cappadocia is now one of the most photographed shoots on earth.Istanbul, Cappadocia

How a market gets built.

The order matters more than the speed. Every market we run has gone through these four stages, and none of them has skipped one.

  1. 1

    Survey the country

We look at where travellers already pay for a photographer — proposals, honeymoons, family trips — not at how big the country is. A market has to have demand before it has a brand.

    6–8 weeks
  2. 2

    Recruit the roster

Every photographer is found by hand, interviewed, and reviewed on portfolio and turnaround before a profile can go live. We open bookings once a city has enough of them to answer on a Saturday.

    25–50 per market
  3. 3

    Open the bookings

Prices you see before you book, an answer within hours, and the money held until the gallery is delivered. The same promise in every country we run.

    Clear prices
  4. 4

    Hand the market its brand

The market gets its own name, domain, language and local support, and starts behaving like a company from that country. Norteira stays behind it — legal entity, payments, engineering, ops.

    Local from day one

Local brands that each look like they were born there beat one that looks like it was born nowhere.
